Build Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) Islands in Fortnite!
The Fortnite Team
Cowabunga! You can now build Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) islands for Fortnite using UEFN and Fortnite Creative. Let’s get into it!
TMNT templates, weapons, devices, Prefabs, Galleries, and bad guy NPCs have arrived straight from the sewers of New York, ready for you to use in building a classic arcade experience. Where will you take players in your turtle adventures? Surfing the sewers, delivering pizzas downtown? Maybe battling baddies on New York City rooftops? The options are limitless.
In homage to TMNT’s rich comic book history, we’re also releasing two post-processing effects to bring that distinctive look and feel to your experience. You can also spawn iconic Turtles NPCs to populate your island. Use the new TMNT-themed assets alongside your favorite UEFN and Fortnite Creative devices and tools to create something Turtley awesome!
To publish your mean, green TMNT islands, you’ll need to opt into additional terms and conditions in the Creator Portal, which confirm you’ll agree to share 15% of your engagement payout for TMNT islands with Paramount (see fee schedule). If you’ve already opted into the terms and conditions to publish LEGO® islands, you don’t need to re-sign. You’ll also need to make sure your island adheres to the TMNT Brand and Creator rules.
Jump in and start building today — you can publish your TMNT islands starting November 13 via the Creator Portal!
Hit the streets and sewers of New York City in this arcade-style game example. See how these assets, exclusive to TMNT, can be used to build an exciting, new experience in UEFN.
This island contains a slice of NYC, lit and stylized to make the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles feel right at home! Check out the custom lighting, post processing, and skybox to learn how to create awesome stylized visuals.
Additionally, you’ll have exclusive access to the Foot Elite, Shredder, and Super Shredder NPCs, a new Mouser NPC type, and five TMNT-themed gameplay devices. The TMNT Character Spawner device brings nine iconic characters into UEFN and Creative for you to partner up with, or fight against.
And that’s not all. There are two new TMNT-inspired post processing effects to play with — 80s Cartoon and Comic Noir. These are available to all creators, not just those creating TMNT islands.
Check out all of the new devices, weapons, prefabs and more in Working with TMNT Islands.
Even if you don’t have ninja training, your TMNT islands can still achieve a mystical level of awesomeness. We can’t wait to see what you create! Publish your islands starting November 13.
