Coming Soon: Custom Lobby Backgrounds for Creator-Made Islands

Soon, we’ll be updating the Fortnite lobby so that every island can have a lobby background image unique to that game. To support this, we’re launching Photo Capture Mode, a new feature that will help you capture lobby images from your game. You can also upload images made using third-party tools into the Creator Portal.
In Photo Capture Mode, you’ll see an overlay of the lobby layout that will provide a guide to ensure you capture images in the correct perspective and that images aren’t obscured by UI elements. You’ll also be able to return to the same capture position to retake images after making changes to your island.
In preparation for the v26.30 update, we’ll ask you to upload a lobby background image as part of the publishing process in Creator Portal. If you don’t upload a background, the default will be the current Fortnite Battle Royale lobby background. You can explore documentation on how to create the perfect lobby background, as well as our lobby background image guidelines. You can also check out the selection of Epic-made backgrounds to start you off.
