Fortnite Ecosystem v35.00
The Fortnite Team
General Physics is now available in Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) as an Experimental feature! When enabled in your islands, players will be able to push, topple, hit, and move objects — unlocking emergent, physics-driven gameplay that feels more realistic and engaging. The Beta version is set to release in Q3 this year, at which point you’ll be able to publish islands using the feature.
The v35.00 update also includes device improvements, Nature Galleries, and new Burd Prefabs and Galleries.
Also, the new Popular Creators in Your Region row in Discover will automatically highlight recommended creators based on a player’s country, making it easier to grow your community.
Fortnite Creative now features the Chapter 5 Time of Day Manager (TODM), offering more realistic lighting using Lumen and Nanite. This is to align more closely with UEFN’s TODM and support new and incoming updates.
To customize the lighting, use the Day Sequence device and adjust Ambience settings in World Settings under Island Settings. Check the release notes below for full details.
Note: UEFN templates still using legacy lighting will be updated in v35.10. If you create a project with the legacy TODM and Skydome device between versions 35.00 and 35.10, you'll be prompted to convert to the new TODM.
