Timed to the series finale of the hit show, Squid Game is now in Fortnite! Ready to play for keeps? You can now create Fortnite islands with assets and content from Squid Game using Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and Fortnite Creative!
Squid Game-themed devices, templates, props, Galleries, and NPCs await — ready for you to create high-stakes challenges deceptively masked as childhood games.
What perplexing puzzles and confounding conundrums will you create for players? Will hopscotch, duck duck goose, or a simple game of jacks provide the nostalgic facade that hides the thin line between glory and destruction?

The Squid Game Starter Island is a deviously fun twist on Fortnite Battle Royale’s classic Greasy Grove — perfect for launching your first Squid Game island!
With the Minigame Mastery template, explore device setups and gameplay examples to create your own Squid Game-inspired minigames. To learn more about how to become a minigame master using all-new devices from v36.10, see the Minigame Template documentation.
Sneak and sleuth your way through the Social Deduction template. This one’s a good example of how to use devices to build social deceptions like your favorite who-done-it games. For more on the template, see the Social Deduction Template documentation.
Squid Game Props
If you’ve already opted into the terms and conditions to publish other IP islands (like The Walking Dead Universe or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), no need to sign again.
Also, make sure your island follows the Squid Game Brand and Creator Rules. Squid Game islands can be published starting August 14 via the Creator Portal!
Squid Game islands will be eligible for additional featured placement, including Epic’s Picks, so don’t forget to submit them!
To be eligible for this island conversion, you must meet the following criteria:
Epic will begin converting requested, eligible islands on July 14. Islands will be converted daily, until August 12. Please note that this is a manual process. We appreciate your patience as conversions are processed!

We’ve got all the essentials to bring the Squid Game universe to your Fortnite islands — with a twist. These props, NPCs, and environments are inspired by the show but reimagined through a Fortnite lens, creating a unique mashup that blends the worlds of Squid Game and Fortnite in fun and surprising ways!Squid Game Props
Build your Squid Game islands using iconic aspects of the television show, including gift box coffins (a hiding prop), invitation cards, guard terminals, and VIP masks which can be attached to players’ faces to mask their identity! There are also Squid Game-Fortnite mashups, including the Cuddle Team Leader (CTL) doll and Llama piggybank (a special version of the Progress Based Mesh device).

Games Player and Guard NPCs
You can populate your islands with games players — complete with their iconic green jumpsuits — using character definitions in the NPC Spawner device. You’ll also have access to pink-suited guards with three mask decal options (circle, triangle, square), plus the black-suited guard.
Squid Game Galleries
Take advantage of Squid Game-themed Galleries inspired by the iconic environments from the television show, including the dorm room, colorful staircase, playground, and cornfield.

We’re just getting started! Between now and August 14 when publishing is available, we’ll be delivering the following:- Fortnite x Squid Game Doll - Control Rig: Bring the iconic CTL doll to life with a control-rigged version (UEFN only).
- Korean and English Voiceover: Voiceover lines for the announcer, doll, guard, and recruiter — ready to use across your islands (UEFN only).
- Social Play Tools (Dynamic Team Making): Players will be able to add or remove team members on the fly to support more fluid team structures. (This includes a handshake or fist bump with another player to seal the deal!)
- Template Updated with Verse Examples: The Squid Game templates will be updated to feature Verse examples to inspire your creations further (UEFN only).
Expanded Device Access for Any Island
We’ve made several of the Squid Game tools available as part of the core UEFN and Fortnite Creative toolsets. This means you can use them across ANY of your Fortnite islands.
The Disguise device, Voting device, Carryable Spawner device, Progress-Based Mesh device and Shove item used as part of the Squid Game creator toolset are accessible to all creators regardless of the island they’re making. Use them to bring new minigames and social gameplay ideas to life!
How to Start Building Squid Game Islands
You can start building Squid Game islands with a template in UEFN, or from scratch. Use the Brand tab in the UEFN project browser to find Squid Game templates, or choose almost any starter island and select Squid Game from the Brand Selection dropdown. To publish Squid Game islands, you must be a member of the Island Creator Program and you’ll need to opt into additional terms and conditions in the Creator Portal. Featuring Squid Game Islands in Discover
Squid Game islands will be prominently showcased in Discover, including a dedicated Game Collection, and a curated “Squid Game Picks” row from Netflix. Like with past IP launches, the purpose is to spotlight some of the community’s best Squid Game islands.Squid Game islands will be eligible for additional featured placement, including Epic’s Picks, so don’t forget to submit them!
Schedule Your Island Release in Advance
You can now schedule your island’s release date and time directly in the Creator Portal! Once your island passes moderation, it will automatically go live at your chosen time, eliminating the need for manual timing. This new functionality lets you time releases with big events, and generate island codes ahead of time for marketing purposes.Convert Your Existing Island to a Squid Game Island
Starting June 27, you’ll be able to submit a request to convert your existing UEFN island into a Squid Game island. Submissions to convert your island are open until August 12 at 9 AM ET. After this time, you will not be able to convert an existing island into a Squid Game island. Epic will begin converting islands starting July 14.To be eligible for this island conversion, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must already be a member of the Island Creator Program and have already signed the IP Partner Licensing Agreement.
- Your project is in compliance with the Squid Game Brand and Creator Rules.
- Your project must be a UEFN island.
- You must be the owner of the project that is being submitted for conversion.
- New* When an island is converted into a brand island, 30 days must pass before it can be converted back to its original format.
Epic will begin converting requested, eligible islands on July 14. Islands will be converted daily, until August 12. Please note that this is a manual process. We appreciate your patience as conversions are processed!
