Save Point device now available in UEFN
The Fortnite Team
Starting today, we are bringing a Save Point device to Unreal Editor for Fortnite, giving creators instant access to one of their biggest requests.
UEFN creators can now save players’ progress, location, resources, and stats across multiple sessions. With the help of save states, developers can add more depth to their worlds, opening up the type of games that reward repeat visits.
This device operates the same way in UEFN as it does in Fortnite Creative (FNC).
Another benefit is that Fortnite creators can also now migrate their islands to UEFN without losing their Save Point functionality. Just be aware that publishing a migrated island will reset all of its data. This means that the next time players visit your island, they’ll join as new players without any previously saved data.
Data migration is not possible at this time. We are exploring solutions and will share an update when one is available but we don't expect this will be resolved this year. If you revert your island back to its Creative state, your player data is retained, but any data from the UEFN project will be lost.
So what’s next?
