The season of frights is upon us! We’re looking for social experiences for players to haunt while Battle Royale’s “Fortnitemares” is also happening. The most compelling islands will be featured in the Fortnitemares row in Discover, where they’ll be highlighted for two weeks!

Island Selection Criteria

We’re seeking highly social islands that take advantage of proximity chat. Some example genres could be:
- Survival: Collaborate with others to complete the win condition or survive as long as possible.
- Escape: You and everyone else are trapped! Find a way to escape to secure your freedom.
- Social Deduction: Figure out whodunit before it’s too late!
Proximity chat is essential and must be incorporated into your game.
Islands must capture the essence of October, with eerie, haunted elements.
Thoughtful level design is key. (Refer to the “Level Design Best Practices” document for guidance.)
A unique, well-crafted environment will help make your island stand out.

Submission Criteria

For your application to be considered, here’s what you need to know:

Only one island per creator.
All islands are welcome — brand new or already published.
Your submission must include video of:
- a fly-through of the entire island and
- one round of gameplay
Your island should be fully functional, well-designed, and fully polished.
Islands with a horror theme are welcome but must not contain blood or gore.
- Be sure to review rule 1.16.1 in the Fortnite Island Creator Rules.

Though not required, a captivating promotional trailer for your island is highly encouraged!

How To Submit Your Island

The island submission window is from September 23 at 12 PM ET to October 7 at 12 PM ET. To submit your island, go to the Creator Content submission form and select “Fortnitemares” from the drop-down menu. Only selected islands will receive an acceptance email.
